Refunds and Right of Withdrawal
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This page explains the right of withdrawal and when you can get your money back for a chicken or a renewal. Each payment covers one year on the meadow; nothing renews automatically.
Chickens are delivered immediately
A chicken is digital content. It goes live on the meadow as soon as your payment is confirmed. Before you pay, the checkout asks you to:
- expressly request that delivery starts immediately, and
- acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once your chicken is live.
Because of this, the right of withdrawal for consumers (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the national laws that implement it) no longer applies once your chicken has been delivered. We record when you gave this consent. Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment.
When we refund anyway
- You paid twice by mistake for the same chicken: we refund the duplicate payment.
- Your chicken never appeared because of a technical problem on our side and we cannot fix it within 7 days: we refund in full.
- We close ChickenLink before your year ends: we refund the unused months of your current year.
We do not refund chickens removed because they broke the Terms or the Content Policy, or when you delete your account.
How to ask
Write to us via our contact form (topic "Payment or refund") with the email address you used to pay and your chicken's address. We reply within 5 working days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and usually arrive in 5 to 10 days. A refunded chicken is removed from the meadow; a refunded renewal takes that extra year away.
Legal guarantee
Your statutory rights for digital content that does not work as described (conformity rights under Directive (EU) 2019/770 and the national laws that implement it) are not affected by this policy.
